This sketch was influenced by my reputation of being nick-named Lamp-Head by my film industry co-workers and throughout all of the major studios because of the fumbling butterfingered explosive accident I was involved in. I sketched this image of "Lighting Explosion" from that experience and was later inspired to create the painting, "Ice Cream In Hell" as its model. rvmann.com/artwork/2566499_Ice_Cream_In…

I indured many amusing months with that labeling as "Lamp-head" before it became old and finally wore out its welcome.

I always considered being lucky to have acquired a studio job after returning home pennilessly from the Navy. My uncle was a studio carpenter and made the proper connections to pull me into the lighting union. At times it seemed as though it was a surprising reward and a fortunate endeavor of love, while simultaneously discovering it as an infernal demonic torture. I ignored having to labor for the film industry because it allotted me the funds to be able to afford my passion of sports cars, motorcycles, Hot Rods and the downtime at work to sketch from my inner thoughts.
