After high school I attended a demonstration of a new school that merged Chouinard Art Institute with the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music to form the California Institute Of The Arts (CalArts). I attended a promotional dance performance demonstration in the gym at their temporary location at another school in Burbank. I sat in the audience and sketched the dancers flying through the air like birds in a flock. CalArts relocated to their new facility built especially for them in Valencia, Southern California. It housed 8 different schools; Music, Art (painting), Dance, Graphic Design, Animation, film, Theatre and photography. It had been 12 years since I had first been rejected. After returning from the US Navy and working in the film industry, I relocated to Venice. By then CalArts had moved into to their newly built school established by the Walt Disney Corporation. I reapplied again and was rejected again. After waiting a year and reapplying the third time I was finally excepted. That was a charm. I attended for 2 years and graduated with a Bachelor Of Fine Arts degree in Fine Art Photography in 1981.
